The cuvée

The Louis-Baptiste cuvée carries the memory of the estate.

Born of the oldest plots in the vineyard, this very limited cuvée draws from decades of Var terroir a complexity that only time can compose.

Forty-five hectolitres. No more.

Our cellar master, Baptiste Porte, shaped it.

The result: a finely wrought wine, complete and refined.

Tasting

At the table

The eyeRadiance
A straw-yellow colour with golden highlights.
The noseBreath
Intense and complex, with a green freshness of sap and resin alongside softer notes of yellow-fleshed fruit: apricot, quince, peach, nuanced by subtle oaky notes.
The palateTexture
Rich and vanilla-scented, marked by oak. The aromas linger on the finish, with a noble bitterness that is green and fresh.

Terroir

The plot

Our organically farmed Rolle and Ugni plots lie on the “Terrubi” land of the estate.

This is an area of “red pelite” soil, made up of fine, ruby-coloured sediments that give the wine structure, freshness, roundness and subtle aromas.

Rich in iron oxides, the pelites hold just enough water to spare the vines excessive stress in the hottest spells of summer, encouraging a slow ripening that concentrates great aromatic power in every bunch.

Our Rolle and Ugni are old vines that capture the geological memory of the place and pass it on to this very distinctive cuvée, which tells the story of the estate.
An imprint that neither ageing nor blending could create: time and nature alone are its source.

In the cellar

Winemaking & ageing

Each vintage is aged for 10 months in 500-litre demi-muids.

Every year we renew a third of our barrels, to give a fine oaky intensity that never dominates the fruit.

Fermentation takes place directly in lightly toasted barrels, so that the oak blends into the wine without ever overwhelming it.
